“We gotta do it this way,” says Jess.
“With no marker or nothing?”
“We’ll know where she is.”
“It ain’t right.”
“I know it ain’t, but it’s got to be this way. You want CDC coming to put us into a quarantine camp for a year?”
“Why would they do that? We didn’t get it then. Odds are we never will.”
“They’ll say we’re carriers.”
“Carry to who, Jess? There ain’t hardly anyone left!”
“There’s still some who haven’t been exposed, maybe.”
“You’re just guessing now. You don’t know nothing for sure.”
“We can’t take chances.”
“It still ain’t right.”
No wonder there’s hardly anyone left. Reminded me of a UK TV series years ago called “Survivors”. A fascinating take.
It definitely ain’t right! Great take on the prompt.
You never know! Nice story.. 🙂
Nice story.
Whatever the disease was that killed her, it now is making anyone who might’ve been exposed to it persona non grata. A scary little dystopia you’ve created here!
Good take on the prompt. Nicely done.
Great dialogue and an intriguing story.

It ain’t right but it has to be that way for them, I think, they have no option
I can see why it doesn’t feel right, but not marking it is probably the wiser choice.
Doesn’t sound like there are many options for them. Nicely done.
Something horrific has happened, for sure. We can only imagine what it might have been.
Like 28 days later, the film, horrific things are afoot
So much desperation ahead. Great write.
